IT’S ENGAGEMENT SEASON! CONGRATULATIONS, WE ARE SO EXCITED FOR YOU!
Now that the dust has settled and you are beginning to plan. I highly suggest looking at budgeting in a new way, especially if you have had a bad relationship with money before.
Now I know that budgeting can seem scary, almost as scary as figuring out where to come up with your wedding budget without going into debt.
Here are 4 things to begin NOW:
- Create your wedding vision
- What do you want to feel?
- How do you envision the day going?
- Are you wanting a traditional wedding that might require more rentals to achieve your desired look? Or do you want a stylized wedding that would allow for more handcrafted materials and décor?
- Ask your family and loved ones if they will be contributing.
- Money is always a hard conversation to have. It’s going to be uncomfortable. But asking parents if they are going to contribute will help you to understand what you will need to contribute in the long run.
- What would bring you joy?
- After you have an idea of your realistic budget, think of what will bring you the most joy when you think back on your wedding day? What will leave you not wishing you would have done it? Is it photos, a video, a full course plated dinner, dancing the night away with family and friends?
- Create a wedding savings account.
- Once you know your budget and budget percentages you will want to immediately start saving for your wedding. The easiest way to do this is with a wedding specified savings account.
Hopefully, this will get you started! I promise looking closely at your budget and establishing these items will help relieve a lot of unnecessary stress and money fights later on. Having a clear vision, dream and plan will help you achieve your dream wedding.
And of course, we are here to help you along the way as well! So contact us today. We would love to help!
Warm Wishes,
