Welcome to Week 1 of the Engaged to Planning series. This week we bring you the content for solidifying your vision and getting aligned with your significant other for what you want this day to hold.
Before you begin planning, it is important to sit down together and establish a wedding vision. Aligning yourselves to this vision will allow you to clearly make decisions regarding your purchases and overall staying on track for budgeting’s sake. We have a whole Freebie on it here.
Once that vision has been set. It’s time to curate a Pinterest board that accurately represents your wedding vision. If you are like me then you could probably understand the importance of this. I’ve been pinning my future wedding since I was about 10 years old! That’s over 15 years of pins which I now need to go through and refine to my current vision because my wedding vision has changed SO much since those early days.
Once you have your refined Pinterest board with 5-10 photos for each part of your wedding then you are ready to create a mood board. To add further clarification, when I say 5-10 photos. I mean under 10 photos of any given desired wedding vendor, tablescape, decor moments, guest books, etc. This will make it a lot easier for vendors to understand your vision and accurately know what you are looking for. If you have 20 photos, then your vision could possibly be misunderstood and vendors may have trouble aligning or you may have conflicting looks.
At this point, I highly recommend consulting with a wedding planner & if possible sharing your Pinterest board. In our free consultations, we evaluate your vision & boards to provide you with real-time tips and advice. All before you even book us. Of course, booking and partnering with us is truly a priceless experience as we have the tools and resources to bring your vision together for the most affordable prices.
After you consult with your planner, there are two things you are going to want to do. Make a mood board (which is provided to our Full Planning clients). This mood board will be a great tool to show vendors like florists, rentals, hair and makeup artists, etc because it will allow them to get a taste of your wedding from the start as a whole and provide you with accurate information and quotes reducing the possible shock of hidden fees. The second thing is you want to start to put together your budget based on this document. This budget will allow you to contact vendors within your budget and create the perfect team of planners, designers, and craftsmen/women.
While planning your wedding might be stressful, it doesn’t have to be. We are here to help you there every step of the way. 100% of our couples who book a free consultation with Peace & Pine Events at the end of the meeting always say to me that our meeting and discussing their wedding was so beneficial to them for knowing what should be coming next or what direction to move forward in. Do you desire to take a deep breath and finally address wedding planning? Book your Free Consultation with us. I promise you it’s an enjoyable, stress-free time where we hang out & and I’m a bouncing board for your ideas and vision.
Warm Wishes,
Cassidy
